India has no right to build this dam. I don't know how this situation has got this far. Corrupt Bangladeshi politicians no doubt. It sounds as if it's too late to do anything. Just lie back and watch people starve. Doesn't matter anyway. The politicians have their wealth and the military have their weapons and if things get tough they can just leave Bangladesh and re-settle their families somewhere else. It's only the poor people of Bangladesh who will suffer. What kind of country is this, that has absolutely no pride in itself, no power, no influence, no friends, nothing. There must be international laws governing the diversion of water in this way? Has the Bangladesh government taken the Indian government to an International court over this? What about the military which takes money from public funds in order to protect Bangladesh from foreign aggressors. Is this not an act of aggression? I live in the UK and I have never heard this story in the news. Why is this not an international news itemn so the rest of the world can see what India is doing? This will be a human rights catastrophe for Bangladesh and an environmental disaster.
